Jon Hutchinson is a teacher at Reach Academy Feltham. He spent five years teaching across both key stages in primary, and is currently teaching Religious Studies at A Level. Jon has a Masters in Education from the University of Cambridge, in which he focussed his studies on the intersection between educational effectiveness research and school improvement.
More recently, Jon has been leading a knowledge-based curriculum project at key stage two. This has involved designing and building resources and approaches that will give every child access to the powerful knowledge they need to flourish, whilst reducing teacher workload and improving subject knowledge across the curriculum.
Jon is also currently a tutor on the Institute for Teaching’s masters programme, and acts as an independent advisor to the Department for Education, currently sitting on the expert group for the Early Career Framework.
Sometimes Jon writes for the TES, Schools Week, Teach Primary and other publications, and he speaks fairly regularly about education on panels and at conferences.
